Best Restaurants in Moss Point
Moss Point's no-frills dining scene — practical spots for fried seafood, BBQ, and Mexican where working folks eat.
Moss Point is a mill town and a fishing town. The restaurant scene reflects that — practical, no-frills, the kind of places where working people eat. For more variety, Ocean Springs and Pascagoula are both about 15 minutes away.
Seafood
Brothers Seafood does fried seafood the way it should be done. Shrimp, catfish, oysters. Paper plates, plastic forks. The portions are generous and the prices are fair.
Bozo’s in nearby Pascagoula is worth the short drive if you want the full market-and-restaurant experience.
BBQ
The Shed BBQ has a Moss Point location. Pulled pork, ribs, sausage links. They’ve won awards, but more importantly, the food is consistently good. The banana pudding is worth saving room for.
Mexican
La Fiesta is the local go-to. Standard Tex-Mex menu — enchiladas, fajitas, combo plates. Good lunch specials, strong margaritas. Nothing surprising, nothing disappointing.
El Saltillo in Pascagoula is another option if you’re already heading that direction.
American
Waffle House is what it is. Open 24 hours, reliable, cheap.
Sonic and McDonald’s exist. I’m not going to pretend they don’t, but you didn’t come to Mississippi for that.
The Reality
Moss Point isn’t a food destination. Most people who live here have a few spots they rotate through and drive elsewhere for special occasions. That’s fine — the neighboring towns pick up the slack, and everything in Jackson County is 15-20 minutes from everything else.
What you won’t find is anything pretentious. No farm-to-table menus, no $18 cocktails. Just straightforward cooking at honest prices. Sometimes that’s exactly what you want.
